Bento Fun #146

I did not cook rice for lunch today as I just can’t figure out what to cook! While looking around all the food cabinets, I saw another bottle of pasta sauce sitting in there which I have kinda forget about! ๐Ÿ˜€

Since I have so many packets of shapes pasta lying around, I thought I’ll just cook pasta for Darrius! I did not pack any bento for him in the morning as Baby G was awake when I was supposed to go downstairs and patted her to sleep which took me more than 20 minutes. That girl is getting more and more alert each day! ๐Ÿ˜›

I fried some of the heart shape chicken nuggets to go with the pasta. Added a cherry tomato and broccoli for the Vit C. Sprinkled some peas onto the pasta sauce for decoration purposes. On top of that I gave him a bottle of Vitagen to complete his meal… which he was so happy! Kids! Anything sweet will definitely make their day!

That’s all for today. Hope you have fun bento-ing!

Bento Fun #145

Another week has gone by but my bento inspiration is still un-found!:P

Darrius had his test last week and I was told by some of his teachers that he did very well. This was the first time he is doing it as the previous one (last year) he only attended 2 weeks of classes when he did the test.

As I have not packed him any bento for the last 3 weeks, I decide to pack one for him this morning using another few of my new ‘investments’ in my bento gadgets department!

Bought this Anpanman bento box (perfect size for snack bento) and the Anpanman cookie cutters from J-Mama a while back. I used the Breadman shape cutter which was a sidekick of Anpanman to make 3 sets ofย  chocolate raisin bread with cheese sandwiches. Added some chicken cocktails and some red cherry tomatoes to complete the box.

When I went to fetch him this afternoon, he told me he likes his bento! He finished everything in the box including the bolo lettuce (from Genting Highlands)! He even told me he wants more bentos and reminded me that he wants those cute-cute ones! ๐Ÿ˜€

Finally perseverance paid off!

We are back from Melbourne

It has been exactly one week we came back from Melbourne!

There was so much to do (loads and load of laundry), lots of unpacking and folding the cloths too which was why I have yet to post any updates in this blog. Baby G fell sick the following day after we brought her to get her 5th month booster jab and I was down with some unfortunate happening with one load of my laundry…

Anyhow, Darrius did not want any bento to bring to school so I thought I’ll just take a break until I have more time to spend later. His first term exam will start tomorrow and will last for a week so we will be busy revising with him.

So, did I get anything from Melbourne?

Well, we did not have much time to do ‘real’ shopping since my hubby is not a shopaholic like me and he often rushed me if he knows I’m about to buy anything! ๐Ÿ˜› I only managed to grab these from one shop in Chadstone (biggest shopping mall in Melbourne) before my hubby got a chance to stop me…

cutters

Love those cute sammy cutters and I got my bone cutter at last! The 2 sammy cutters were priced at $2.99 each which was quite reasonable and I paid $1.99 for the bone cutter. On top of that, I managed to get a packet of bear shape pasta which I did not take any photo. I found some alphabets pasta but my hubby stopped me from buying… ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

And on our flights, Darrius got these on his food trays (both ways) so we kept them for him to use as bento boxes…

cnboxes

They were Cartoon Network lunch boxes from Singapore Airline which were quite cute though none of the cartoons listed there is Darrius’s favorite.ย  He’s not a fan of Ben 10 yet so I’ll just keep them for him till he knows more about these characters.

Will try to pack something next week with my new cutters so stay tuned! ๐Ÿ˜€
