Bento Fun #278 – Mini Sammy Squares

So quickly it is Tuesday already! This week will definitely breeze through as I have lots of stuff to do before our long weekend getaway to KL for May Day.

Today’s bento is pretty similar to yesterday’s since I have all the ingredients so no point buying new stuff to create new menu! ๐Ÿ˜› Yeah, I am getting a little lazy…

I made similar sammies for lunch yesterday but with different filling (I made egg omelette) and added lots of ingredients (this is influenced by Subway since we have been having subs quite often recently!!!) and they are really tasty! I was surprised to find out that Darrius likes the pickled cucumber that he asked for more! That was why I added the pickles in his bento today. There is also some strawberries and a small portion of corn on cob.

During my recent groceries shopping trip, I discovered the new Kid milk by Dutch Lady which is just at the right size for the kids… especially my baby who don’t take a lot of milk at each feed. The box above is only 125ml so it is excellent to go with a small snack box! ๐Ÿ˜€ย I always bring the 250ml boxes for travelling as it is convenient (no need to mix the milk powder, wash the bottle and bring a whole bag of stuff!) ๐Ÿ˜› and Darrius likes box milk!

And I have something new in the box today… the new lace silicon baran! Love, love them to bits! Got them from J-Mama.

Bento Fun #277 – Petite Garden Turkey Sammies

Good’ay everyone!

How was your Easter celebration over the weekend? I hope all of you had plenty of fun… well, for those who went for the wild eggs chase… you should had great fun! We are not Christians so we rarely participate… However, I hope someday I can organize an egg hunt for my kids and their friends. ๐Ÿ˜€

We don’t get any off day today so we are back to the regular schedule again. Darrius got lazy as he has Friday off for Good Friday. This morning he refused to wake up and kicked up a big fuss when I threaten to leave him in the room.

The following conversation took place before we went down…

Darrius : I don’t want to study so many hours!

Me : You are studying for 4 hours only

Darrius : I don’t want to read so many pages!

Me : Then why you play so many levels of Angry Birds??

Darrius : I……

Anyway, I don’t normally bow down to him… I know he will always have all those mischievousย ideas cooking in his head when he turns lazy. ๐Ÿ˜›

Bento for today is pretty simple…

I bought a loaf of wholemeal and a loaf of white bread yesterday. Why buy so many loaves of bread? Well, hubby bought some turkey ham when we were out shopping over the weekend and the only bread he will eat is wholemeal or those with lots of grains. An idea cropped up to make the petite sammies but was a tad disappointed that the wholemeal and the white bread did not have a good color contrast.

Anyhow, I just went ahead with it. It was a double deck of cheese and turkey ham sammies. Decorated the top with half a strawberry, half a cherry tomato, cheese bee and flower. Added more strawberries and some green seedless grapes for extra Vitamin C.

Darrius warned me that he only wanted seedless grapes coz he don’t want grape plant growing on top of his head! ๐Ÿ˜† Yeah, I scared him previously that if he swallow the seeds, they will grown on his head! He also added that he don’t want any ‘cacing’ (earth worms) crawling on the plant on his head! *slap forehead*

That’s all for today. Hope you’ll have fun bento-ing! ๐Ÿ˜€

Bento Fun #276 – Another Rilakkuma Pocket Sammy

Can you believe it that if I tell you that last night was like a nightmare??? Baby G started fussing even before we switch off the light! *sigh* And the entire night she was like chanting with her continuous cries until both of us can’t take it no more! The daddy picked her up and she cried louder thinking he is going to throw her out of the room… ๐Ÿ˜› The daddy tried patting her but she cried louder and insisted to crawl away so last resort… let her get her boobies fix… *sigh* Maybe weaning and teething is not such a good combo hor? *shake head*

Nevertheless, life still goes on…

The thing about having trade marked gadgets mean we can’t do other items out of them especially so if it is a pocket sammy maker! ๐Ÿ˜›

Since I have the bigger size wholemeal bread I decided to make a Rilakkuma pocket sammy for Darrius’s bento today. The pocket sammy was filled with meat floss and accompanied by some Korean strawberries, kiwi wedges and a milk melon pudding.

Tomorrow is Good Friday and we are spared from waking up early. Looking forward to get some serious rest this weekend…

Wishing everyone a great Good Friday and a Happy Easter!

Bento Fun #275 – Twin Chicks Bento

The past couples of nights have been terrible for me and hubby. Baby G was extremely cranky and kicked up big fuss a few times a night! I am already having insomnia and coupled with this (it took me a while to doze off) I can only best clock in 3 hours of sleep each night. Each time I finally get to sleep, Baby will cry very loudly and would only stop after being threaten to be threw out of the room! She normally wanted her boobies fix but each time she doesn’t seems to get enough so she will get kick up a big fuss. *sigh* I have thought she is teething but I don’t think that is the case…

I have been so tired and feeling lethargic during the day and I can’t concentrate on anything. Also, I have quite a list of tasks to complete each day on top of my regular housework, cooking and caring for the kids. And who says housewives are enjoying life????

I did not make any bento the last two days simply because I can’t wake up! Therefore, I only pack simple stuff like cereal and fruits for Darrius which, luckily was fine with him. Managed to pop by QBM yesterday and pick up a loaf of wholemeal bread from RotiBoy and packed him a bento this morning…

In conjunction with Easter this weekend, I made this twin chicks bento which were two bread onigiri filled with meat floss and mayo. The wings were cheddar cheese cut outs. There are some strawberries, pearl cherry tomatoes and some kiwi slices.

Hopefully this qualify as an Easter bento! I have bought some quail eggs but no time to make anything out of them as yet!!!! Will try to come out with something before this Sunday… hehehe and Friday Darrius get an off day because it is Good Friday.

The Bento4Japan auction is still going strong so don’t forget to check out great items on auction!
